Coffee breakdown:
Country: Colombia
Process: natural sugarcane method
This regional blend from Huila, Colombia, is built from microlots from Small Batch's portfolio producers. These are all smallholders and ecological farmers, all paid under Small Batch's livelihood model. This initiative provides economic security to producers even when their coffees don't quite make the cut as exceptional microlots. Small Batch is proud of this coffee and what it means on the ground.
Small Batch purchases all Colombian coffee directly from smallholder producers, meaning direct payment in Colombian pesos from bank account to bank account, by cheque, or with cash if producers don't have bank accounts. Small Batch buys parchment coffee and pays in full upon delivery to the mill, then takes charge of the parchment, contracting the milling service and the decaffeination process in Manizales. Export is handled via Small Batch's Colombian company, Shared Source S.A.S.
