The town of Planadas in Tolima, Colombia, has a history marked by conflict between the state and guerrilla groups. Local coffee farmers persisted, maintaining high-quality production despite surrounding instability.
After a peace agreement in 2016, stability returned, allowing coffee production to flourish. The San Fermin growers cultivate shade-grown coffee, installing water filtration systems to treat wastewater from their wet mill, demonstrating environmental stewardship.
Maker presents the latest iteration of Maven, a blend of caturra, colombia and castillo beans from these resilient farms, celebrated as a favorite expression of craft and hope.
