Coffee breakdown:
Origin: Pitalito, Huila, Colombia
Variety: Caturra, Bourbon, Amarillo, Colombia
Process: Washed
Producer: Pitalito Small Holders
Altitude: 1700-1900 m
Originating from Pitalito in Colombia, this coffee is a collection of small holder lots including caturra, bourbon amarillo and colombia varieties. Grown at high altitude and processed using the traditional washed method, the Carambolo blend is delightfully sweet and clean with a classic cup profile from Pitalito. The loamy soils of this region and the 24 hour oxidation stage of processing (which happens before the depulping and washing) imparts a fruit forward character with heightened cleanliness at the forefront.
We are finding elegant florals, soft tropical notes and a healthy lick of milk chocolate that has kept us coming back for more. This is a coffee meant to be shared and enjoyed, or if you’re like us and can’t help yourself, consume at will and thank us later.
